Myanmar's Panglong conference agrees to start political dialogue

In Myanmar, a landmark peace conference between the government and military and armed ethnic groups continues in the capital Nay Pyi Taw. The '21st Century Panglong Peace Conference,' aims to end decades of domestic conflict by building a democratic federal union.

So far, the delegates have agreed to start a national dialogue right after the conference. This year's Panglong Peace Conference is the largest peace talks held in Myanmar. 17 out of the 25 armed ethnic groups recognized by the government sent representatives while one dispatched an observer.
