Senators have voted 61 to 20 to remove the country’s first female president. She has been found guilty of illegally using money from state banks to bankroll public spending.

Her rival, former Vice President Michel Temer, has been sworn in as the new President of Latin America’s biggest country. Temer pledges to pull Brazil together and rescue the country from its economic slump.
