China's delegation features nearly 500 people -- including athletes, coaches, and officials. They have been very complimentary of the accomodations at the Paralympic Village, and are looking forward to the start of competition.

The Opening Ceremony will be held Wednesday. Ahead of that curtain raising event, the Chinese athletes trained at Rio's Olympic Stadium for the first time.

Although they were allotted just three hours, many track and field competitors say they cherished the opportunity, as their events will get underway Thursday.

More than 9,000 people, including two-thousand volunteers, will work at the Athletes Village during the Paralympics. China's team is the largest the country has ever sent to an overseas Paralympic Games, with 308 athletes in total.

"I am very happy and proud to attend this competition on behalf of the Chinese delegation. I hope to have my best performance during the event. I hope for an unforgettable experience in Rio. After all, this is the Paralympic Games, and I can achieve good results here," said Wang Yanzhang, Chinese shot putter.

China's shooting team will experience their first action at the firing range Thursday. The squad will participate in 12 events. Among the athletes, five attended the last three Paralympics, and claimed three gold medals.

The coaches say they are not placing any pressure on the shooters, and are simply encouraging them to put forth the best effort possible.
