British manufacturing output fell in July at its fastest pace in a year. That's according to the Office for National Statistics.
The ONS says manufacturing output fell 0.9 percent in July after a 0.2 percent drop in June. Economists polled by Reuters had expected manufacturing output to fall 0.4 percent. The data is the first that covers economic output for the period immediately after the Brexit vote.
The ONS says there were no signs of manufacturers getting an immediate boost from the pound's plunge after the Brexit vote because contracts are usually slow to respond to currency fluctuations.
