China's August CPI up 1.3%, PPI down 0.8%

Data from the National Bureau of Statistics showed the consumer price index grew 1-point-3 percent in August on an annual basis. That's below the forecast of 1.7% and is also the weakest in almost a year.

Consumer inflation dropped for the fourth straight month in August. Meanwhile, producer price deflation narrowed.  The Producer Price Index dropped 0.8%, the indicator has been improving since the beginning of this year. This is what one analyst had to say.
