University of Florida Health has announced that doctors have successfully separated conjoined twin girls using 3D printing technology.

The girls shared a heart and other organs. Doctors were able to create a 3D printed conjoined heart using CT and MRI scans taken before and after their birth. This allowed surgeons to study the twins' physiology in more detail come up with a plan on how to go about the separation.
