Chinese visitor numbers to the US are rising.  According to a new report, last year, it was almost 2.6 million, up 18 percent compared to the year before. And during 2015, they spent about 27 billion US dollars.  On average, each visitor spends about 10 thousand US dollars per trip.

In the big global picture, Chinese outbound travelers spent a total of 292 billion US dollars in 2015, nearly twice the year before. Foreign visitors to China spent 117.6 billion.

The top three categories for Chinese spending are: retail shops, hotels and luxury stores. In contrast, American tourists in China spend most on hotels, foods and department stores. Exchange rate fluctuation, tax benefit, and rising demand for electronic devices contribute to the Chinese travel surge.
