Russian voters head to the polling stations today to elect 450 members of the lower house of parliament, also known as the State Duma.
Voters will also decide who will take the seats of regional parliaments. This will be the first Duma election since the country adopted the third Sunday in September as the “unified voting day.”
A third of the polling stations nationwide are equipped with surveillance cameras. This allows the public to watch the voting process live online.
Duma elections are held every five years.
