At the UN General Assembly session and the Refugee Summit in New York, world leaders have looked at ways to resolve the ongoing global refugee crisis.

The Greek prime minister, Alexis Tsipras, warned of nationalism and xenophobia if their efforts failed. US Secretary of State John Kerry said the world needs to do more to cope with what he called a "catastrophe", including donors raising their funding commitments.

The Thai Foreign minister said they needed to address the root causes of the crisis. His Italian counterpart called on the international community to work with Africa, while the leader of unity government in Libya, a country from where many African refugees depart for Europe, said his country is ready to help with the refugee crisis.
