Hao Yeping, this small vineyard owner has been passing on expertise in growing mountain grapes to villagers for years. These fruity, elegant, round and powerful Bordeaux fruits were chosen last year. When they ripen, people here will reap the profits.

"They don't know when the grapes can be pruned. I tell them, they can come to my farm to see. When planting season comes, I let them know so they can get the most out of it," Hao said.

This knowledge has turned to profit... Growing up in an remote town, Hao Yeping lived poor for years. He escaped poverty by planting grapes. Other villagers have followed in his steps.

"In previous years, my income was around few thousand yuan annually. This year, it will go up to nearly 20,000 yuan," Hao Jiazhu said.

The Haojiachuan village in Zichang County has over 200 households. In the last seven years, dozens of families have been lifted out from the poverty.

Planting mountain grapes, the construction of freshwater aquaculture bases, and cattle and pig breeding have become viable industries.

“We first focus on poor households. We have implemented land transfers and supported them in any way we can. Villagers are helping their neighbors make more money,” said Hao Fengda, village party secretary.

Many villagers grew up listening to stories of the Long March. Many of their forefathers were soldiers in the Red Army. The spirit of perseverance in accomplising goals is helping this community improve people's lives.

Just 20 kilometers from the village, the Wayaobao meeting was held in December of 1935. Relics from that time remain in good condition, reminding of the the importance of that day to Chinese history.

During the Long March, one of the crucial meetings in the history of the Communist Party of China was the Wayaobao meeting. It determined a policy for uniting all Chinese in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

The Wayaobao Meeting rejected leftist objections to uniting with the national bourgeoisie to fight against Japanese aggression. After the meeting, Mao Zedong delivered a major report: “On Tactics against Japanese Imperialism”.

“If we say that the Communist Party of China’s Long March was a revolution, then we can say that the Communist Party is still on the Long March. When the country was established in 1949, we were pursuing a dream of independence and freedom. Now we are striving for a stronger and prosperous nation," said Liu Yu, researcher, Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall.

The Long March has demonstrated its significance in the Chinese history. Its revolutionary spirit countinues to encourage people to better their lives and accomplish the nation's rejuvination.
