09-20-2016 19:26 BJT

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea says it has carried out a successfully ground test of a new type of high-powered rocket engine. It says the engine will be used in a carrier rocket to launch a geostationary satellite. South Korea says it could be used for a long-range missile. To discuss that, we're joined by Rafael Wober, an AP journalist in Pyongyang.

Q1: What specifics can you tell us about the test and the performance of the new rocket engine?

Q2: Media in the DPRK say the leader Kim Jong Un guided the test, and say it's for the launch of a satellite. What's your analysis of the timing of this test and its relationship with the DPRK's satellite programme?
