China invests in 188 countries & regions in 2015

Chinese investors had invested in nearly 188 countries and regions around the world and started about 31,000 companies overseas by 2015. China’s ODI covered almost all sectors. Leasing and business services topping the list and accounted for 37 percent of the total ODI volume.
 
Finance was second on the list followed by mining and the wholesale and retail sectors. The top four sectors accounted for an investment volume of about U.S.$834 billion and more than 75 percent of the total ODI.
 
Investment in the manufacturing sector increased 109 percent from 2014 while investment in such sectors as information transmission, and technological services increased more than 100 percent. That came as ODI in culture, sports and entertainment surged 237 percent year on year.
 
Meanwhile, outbound investments in transportation, warehouse storage, postal and mining dropped about 30 percent.
