Intangible Heritage Expo opens in Jinan

The 4th Intangible Heritage Expo opened in the city of Jinan in east China's Shandong Province on Wednesday. And, more than 14-thousand items are on display.

About one-thousand intangible cultural categories from China, Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, and Japan are represented at the expo. As part of the event, over 16-hundred artists from across China are participating in paper-cutting, porcelain-making, bamboo-weaving, embroidery, and clay-carving.

The expo aims to pass down traditions, mixing age-old techniques with modern tools. It will run for five days, and already drew in 50-thousand visitors on its first day.
