The Afghan government and the Islamic party Hezb-e-Islami have signed a draft peace agreement amid efforts to stabilize the country. The deal marks an important step in the country's peace process. It was signed in Kabul after more than two years of negotiations.
The draft was signed by representatives of negotiating parties for the two sides. The deal will take effect in the coming days after it is signed by Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Hezb-e-Islami party leader Gulbuddin Hekmatyar.
