Many cities in China are now constructing second airports. That's despite the fact that at least 70 percent of the 300 airports now in operation are suffering losses.

It's estimated that every 1 million additional aviation passengers can create 800 to 1,100 new jobs. The State Council said China will have more than 500 utility airports by 2020. In the mean time, airport management has become a key indicator of the sector's development.

"Currently, major airports in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region are managed by Capital Airport Holding Company through integrated operation. The future target is to complete the airport fast transportation network, construct coordination mechanism of aviation hubs, and promote the reasonable positioning of regional airports," said Gao Shiqing, vice general manager of Capital Airport Holding Company.
