Russia presents FIFA World Cup 2018 mascots

The organizers of 2018 World Cupstill have plenty of work to do before the first ball is kicked, and that includes trying to pick a mascot. But they have narrowed down the choice to three, with a tiger, cat and wolf vying to be the symbol of the football showpiece. 

And images of the three candidate animals were projected onto the walls of Moscow State University, as part of the annual Circle of Light show. After the presentation, an online vote was launched, allowing soccer fans to decide on which character to choose.

The most popular character will be declared the winner live on television October 21. The 2018 World Cup will be held between June 14 and July 15.
