DPRK hopes to boost tourism with first air show

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is hoping to attract more tourists with the country's first-ever air show.

The two-day Wonsan International Friendship Air Festival at Kalma airport featured demonstrations by air force planes, helicopters and the DPRK's flagship airline, Air Koryo. Sky divers from different parts of the world showcased their talents.

Approximately 200 aviation enthusiasts flew in to the eastern coastal city of Wonsan for the festival. Thousands of locals also watched the show.
