BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- China opposes any country using domestic laws to carry out "long arm jurisdiction" against Chinese entities or individuals, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Tuesday.

The U.S. Department of Justice said it had filed criminal charges against China's Dandong Hongxiang Industrial Development Co. and its executives for supporting the nuclear program of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea's (DPRK), according to news reports.

Spokesperson Geng Shuang said China's position on the DPRK's development of nuclear weapon and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula is clear and consistent.

China has earnestly and faithfully been implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2270 and fulfilling its obligations in non-proliferation export controls, he said, adding that China's efforts are well known by the international society.

Any person or company found in breach of the regulations will be punished, and if necessary China will cooperate with othercountries on this on the basis of mutual respect and equality, Geng told a daily press briefing.

"We have made this position known during recent communications with the U.S. side," Geng said.
