To the ice where Canada looked to continue their winning run at the World Cup of Hockey. The hosts of the event had not dropped a game all tournament, outscoring the opposition by a 19-6 count. That included a 4-1 demolition of Europe, the team they would be facing in the best-of-three games final.

Mats Zuccarello and his side, a mash-up of players from 8-countries. But that would not matter to the Canadians. As there is a breach in the Euro defence, Patrice Bergeron skates through and lays off for Brad Marchand. His fourth of the tournament makes it 1-zip two minutes into the first.

Canadiana would be on the attack again later in the period. Ryan Getzlaf waits and spots a streaking Steven Stamkos, who gets his first of the tourney 2-zip, and they love it at the Air Canada Centre.

The Euros are able to cut into the lead in the second, the point shot is stopped by Carey Price, but Tomas Tatar is left alone in front. His third goal in two games makes it 2-1.

But the hosts top-line would seal the deal in the third, Sidney Crosby holding the puck behind the net -- and he spots Patrice Bergeron who snaps it home.

Canada go on to a 3-1 win, their 15th straight victory in international competition, and take a 1-nothing lead in the best of three final.

So Game two is set for Thursday night in Toronto. Game three will take place Saturday if needed.
