China's outbound tourists to exceed 600 mln

This year's holiday will see more Chinese travellers than ever before. This is according to a survey conducted by the China National Tourism Administration. 

600 million people are expected to travel within the country -- up 12 percent, and contributing about 500 billion yuan, or 75 billion US dollars to the industry. That is up 13.5 percent from a year earlier. 

The report also estimates nearly 6 million people will travel abroad, with Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu the leading departure points.

Residents of Shanghai, Beijing and Shenyang top the rankings for spending. Hangzhou has become the first choice for domestic tourists followng the G20 Summit last month.

Disneyland in Shanghai, the Forbidden City in Beijing, and Changlong Park in Guangzhou are the most popular destinations. With their relaxed visa policies, Morocco, Mexico and Britain are hot overseas destinations. And South Korea, Thailand, Japan are still the top three destinations for outbound travellers.
