Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has vowed to review the 2014 Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement between his country and the United States. He made the remarks at a local festival on Sunday.

Duterte said the two-year-old defense deal does not contain the signature of a Philippine president. The president warned he might ask all US military personnel to leave his country if the deal doesn't meet his standards.

The 10-year agreement permits US forces to build temporary facilities in Philippine bases and strengthen the country’s equipment-deficient military. It also gives broad access to Philippine military bases.
