Colombia president admits defeat in peace vote

To start in South America where Colombia's president has just acknowledged that voters have rejected his peace accord with FARC rebels in a referendum vote. Some 50-point-24 percent of Colombians voted against the deal.

This razor-thin margin is a major blow to the Colombian government and FARC, which agreed to a peace treaty in August after four years of negotiations. Both President Juan Manuel Santos and FARC leader Timoleon Jimenez have vowed to continue their efforts to end the 52-year war.
