11 million passenger trips are expected to be taken on Friday. And over 600 extra lines are needed to ease the pressure. At the Capital Airport, over 130,000 departures are expected. And highways will see heavy traffic.

"We will prepare more buses according to the tourist demand to ensure passenger travel," Jinan Bus Terminal staff Huang Ying said.

The National Day Golden Week is one of the few holidays with enough time for travel. And Chinese are increasingly taking advantage of it.

According to the China National Tourism Administration, during the first six days of October, the total number of tourists nationwide hit 60 million. And tourism revenue totaled 450 billion yuan, up 12.8 percent year on year.

And destinations are changing.

Technology exhibitions have become popular with science fiction buffs. And given that it's the nation's birthday, memorial sites are among the top choices. And perhaps, Chinese are paying more for the depth of experience rather than for the number of places

This is particularly true among those who travel overseas.

We now care more about the quality of travel, something beyond shopping, something more spiritual and cultural.

Instead of hurrying through scenic spots, taking selfies at will, and splashing out money. More Chinese tourists are changing their habits, to better savor their holiday.
