Continuing with world cup qualifying, China will look to bounce back from their shock defeat to Syria when they travel to face Uzbekistan on Monday.

Fans in Xi'an were dealt a reality check on Thursday when a single goal was enough for the middle eastern nation to pull off the unlikeliest of wins, leaving the PRC's chances of reaching Russia rather slim.

China now sit 5th in pool B with just one point earned against Iran last month.

Currently Uzbekistan lie two places above in third and Gao Hongbo's side must leave the capital Tashkent with all 3 points if they are realistically going to be in with a chance of reaching their first world cup since 2002.

Striker Gao Lin is struggling with a groin injury but is expected to start. The SIPG forward is the only injury concern ahead of the pivotal encounter.
