First up is football and 2018 World Cup Qualifying from Europe as the reigning title holders, Germany hosted the Czech Republic in a Group C encounter. Die Mannshchaft came in as clear favourites and their precocious poacher Thomas Mueller would be at his best again as he scores two goals for the second straight qualifying match in a dominant victory for the home side.

Germany open the scoring just 13 minutes in. Mario Goetze attacks down the left and his cross is touched on by Mesut Ozil and you simply can't give Mueller that kind of space. Easy pickings for the 27 year old.

10 minutes later they nearly make it two as a long ball is coralled in the box and then given to Julain Draxler who pulls off a nice pirouette before sending his shot just wide of the far post.

Germany enjoy 73 percent ball possession in the first half and come close again around the half-hour mark. Goetze is sent through before and manages to lift it over the keeper, but can't find the net.

The Czechs show no signs of coming back, and Germany double the lead four minutes after the break. Toni Kroos scores with a slippery low shot to make it 2-0. A quick one-timer from the Real Madrid midfielder.

The visitors have a few chances, perhaps this one best of all as Borek Dockal blasts a shot in the 63rd minute forcing Manuel Neuer's first save, but I think he was just happy for a bit of action.

Back the other end, the Germans provide a final demonstration of how to find the net as Mueller completes his brace for the second straight qualifier and it ends 3-0 for the champions.

"Well, I think in general we are happy with this game. We played seriously and created chances again and again trying to score goals. And we didn't stop doing this even after the first and second goals. In general we delivered a very concentrated and focused performance. There is of course always room for improvement. However, we are happy now and in particular the fans were great here today. So, thanks again for this. It was fun!" Mueller said.

Germany now have six points from two games in Group C, alongside Azerbaijan after they beat Norway 1-0 in Baku. In Group E, Romania routed Armenia by five goals while Montenegro also recorded a 5-0 win against Kazakhstan to stay on top of the group. Poland edged Denmark 3-2 thanks to a Robert Lewandowski hat-trick. Group F saw England get their second win in a row and caretaker manager Gareth Southgate's first victory beating Malta 2-0.
