Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said he detected increasing U.S. hostility towards Moscow, and complained about what he said was a series of aggressive U.S. steps that threatened Russia's national security.

In an interview with its state broadcaster on Sunday, Lavrov reeled off a long list of grievances against the United States, which he said helped contribute to an atmosphere of mistrust that was more dangerous and unpredictable than the Cold War.

He also accused the U.S. of not trying its best to fight against terrorists in Syria, and protecting jihadist group Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as al-Nusra.
