Samsung has suspended all production of its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, halted sales worldwide and told customers to stop using the device. The firm's share price plunged 8 percent on Tuesday following the decision.
Meanwhile, China's quality watchdog has said Samsung would recall all Note 7s sold in the country. Close to 200,000 Note 7s were sold in the Chinese mainland. The recall covers 2.5 million Note 7s in 10 markets. Last month, several customers reported that the lithium-ion batteries in their Note 7s exploded while charging.
