Raised in Montreal, New York and Los Angeles, Louisa Lee comes to CCTV as a TV Host for “Crossover”,following a successful career as a bilingual presenter, reporter, anchor and radio host. Recognized as one of the most distinctive programs on air today, “Crossover” is a lifestyle talk show that celebrates and explores life in China, offering viewers the most up-to-date and newsworthy information, presented in a lively format.
Prior to her role at CCTV News, Louisa hosted a variety of TV programs for UDN TV in Taiwan, including a fashion/lifestyle show “Fashionistus”, a car show “Our Love for Motion”, and a travel show “Gift Taiwan”.
Louisa anchored for “Louisa,” “World Post” and “CTS English News” for CTS Channel 12 in Taiwan, for which she covered international affairs. She also interviewed key figures and celebrities, including Palauan President Tommy Remengesau, World’s Fastest Violinist David Garett, English tenor Russell Watson, Australian singer Lenka and US rock band Evanescence. The newscast was nominated for the “Excellent Journalism Award 2011”.
While being in front of the camera has become the norm for Louisa, she started her on-air career hosting a radio show called the “Weekend Buzz” for ICRT in Taiwan. In addition to playing the hottest hits in town, Louisa interviewed local and international stars, as well as presenting the “Entertainment News”.
During her time in Los Angeles, Louisa worked as a segment producer for Animal Planet's “Untamed and Uncut”, having honed her interviewing and producing skills at one of the most renowned television stations in Los Angeles, KTLA. She also completed internships at Fox 6 and KSWB in San Diego.
Louisa is a double major, having obtained a B.A. degree in Political Science and a B.A. degree in Communication from the University of California, San Diego. She also undertook broadcast journalism courses at the University of California, Los Angeles.
Louisa calls herself an avid globetrotter, whose adventurous side has seen her set foot in more than 25 countries. As a passionate animal lover, with two pooches of her own, she regularly volunteers to help animals in need. While Louisa is truly happiest when spending quality time with her beloved family, her socially outgoing nature means she is always keen to meet new people and expand her horizons.
