Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with Myanmar’s State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi on the sidelines of the BRICS summit. Both voiced hopes of increasing practical cooperation to drive their comprehensive partnership.

Xi said China is willing to expand cooperation in areas such as infrastructure construction, agriculture, water conservancy, and education.

Suu Kyi said China was an important neighbor and that it was important for both countries to maintain frequent high-level exchanges.
