In more football news, Barcelona have revealed that Neymar will sign a new 5-year-deal on Monday, keeping him at the club until 2021. The Brazilian has so far netted ninety times for the La Liga champs since arriving from Santos in 2013 and gone on to win nine titles including two Spanish League championships and last year's Champions League.

The 24-year-old has been a pivotal part of Barca's European dominance in recent seasons but was surrounded in controversy earlier this year when he and his father were forced to testify in court following alleged illegal activities in his transfer to the Catalans 3 years ago.

As of last month the case has been re-opened after a successful appeal from prosecutors who claimed their was enough evidence to re-open the trail. In June Barcelona paid a fine of 5.5 million euros to settle a separate case against the club from Spain's tax authorities. Their issues off the pitch haven't taken away from a hugely successful 2015, 2016 season which saw them lift the Champions League, the La Liga title and the Copa del Rey.
Also staying with the Spanish Champions is Javier Mascherano who put pen to paper on a new 3 year deal. The Argentinian midfielder looked set to join former team mate Dani Alves at Juventus in the summer but has opted to stay in Catalonia. The 32-year-old arrived at the New Camp in 2010 and is another Barca man who has appeared in court during the last year. The former West Ham midfielder was given a suspend 12 month jail term for an unpaid tax bill of over 6 million Euros.
