After defeating local favourite Judd Trump at the final of the English open in Manchester, Chinese player Liang Wenbo spoke to us about clinching the first ranking title of his career, and what was going though his mind during the match.

"I told myself to relax because I had entered into the finals before several times but did not win. I think the reasons for this win this time were that my competition skill were a lot better than before. I did not consider the result in the match and the only thing I wanted to do is to play to my full ability and play each ball well. Only then could I have a chance to beat my opponent. I did well in every aspect and finally I won. The process was really not easy for me."

"I met the world No. 2, No.3 and No.4 while in the final Trump had a wonderful performance. I seized all the opportunities I had in the match and finally won. I was satisfied with the result. I have been training with O' Sullivan in the past two years and I have often communicated with him recently. He really gave great help and he asked me to watch the video of my past matches so he could draw conclusions from the videos. I learnt a lot from each of my past matches.  I want to give my sincere thanks to Mr O'Sullivan," Liang said.
