As the world's second largest economy, China still has around 60 million people living in poverty. But government efforts are helping to eradicate poverty along the path of the Long March and across the country.

China's red army began its Long March in east China's Jiangxi Province. The children of revolutionaries are now eager to start a revolution of their own. A digital revolution. 123 villages in Yudu county engage in e-commerce. And the local industry's total revenue has already exceeded 7 million yuan so far this year.

Central China's Hunan Province, is known around the world as the home of party-leader Mao Zedong. Local authorities have embraced their region's history and welcomed people to come and visit the province, to witness its natural scenery and revolutionary history themselves. And the result is encouraging. The number of tourists has increased from 700 thousand in 2013 to nearly 3 million in 2015.

Many Long March achievements occurred in southwest China's Guizhou Province. The region's rich ethnic diversity has helped Guizhou's tourism industry develop into what it is today.
