A visiting Chinese naval fleet to Vietnam's Cam Ranh International Port arrived on Saturday. The naval fleet is on a five-day visit and looks to promote bilateral ties and cooperation between the two nations and navies. The Chinese navy will participate in various activities with their Vietnamese counterparts. In an interview with CCTV, a senior Chinese colonel said that events such as the naval visit will have a significant impact on relations.

"The Chinese navy and Vietnamese navy have had good communication and cooperation in many fields in recent years. By last year, we had successfully conducted 20 joint patrols with the Vietnamese navy in the Beibu Gulf. There have been many friendly mutual visits. And, these had positive contributions to the relations between the two countries and navies. Our No. 531 fleet's visit to Vietnam's Cam Ranh International Port, vividly reflects the friendship between China's and Vietnam's navies," said senior colonel Wang Hongli, commander of Task Force Fleet from Chinese Navy.
