59 dead after police training center attack in Pakistan

An attack on a Pakistani police training academy on Monday has left 59 dead and more than 100 injured.

Local officials said five to six gunmen fired at the training center in the southwestern city of Quetta. Later they raided a dormitory where some 200 trainees were resting and sleeping. Some were also taken hostage.

An operation to clear the facility lasted five hours.

No militant group has claimed responsibility for the assault.
