In France, authorities have started dismantling the so-called 'Jungle camp' in the northern town of Calais. Workers are tearing down fragile cabins, tarp-covered sheds and other temporary buildings. Around nine-thousand migrants had been living at the camp.

More than 4,000 of them have left for reception centers across the country. Officials say they hope to evacuate all the others by Friday. The French government has pledged sufficient spots to receive all those migrants. The government adds that refugees who fit a certain criteria will stay in France, while those who don't will be deported. During the evacuation, some activists are instigating migrants to stay in Calais. The authorities have beefed up police presence at the scene.
