To football and action from the Chinese Super League. Guangzhou Evergrande already sealed another title, their sixth straight, last week, and were playing out the schedule as they visitied Jiangsu Suning.

The penultimate game of the season for the champs, may not mean much in the standings, but both sides wanted to get the upper-hand in the contest, as the two will square off again next month, in the final of the Chinese F.A. Cup.

Guangzhou had a seven-point advantage in the standings coming into the match.

Despite that, they would be intent on getting three points. Early on, Huang Bowen's 7th-minute free kick takes a deflection and hits the crossbar, before the ball is cleared from danger.

Jiangsu's best chance of the half comes off a corner in the 23rd minute, but Roger Martinez fails to find the target with his header, as he finds the post instead. It remains scoreless after 45 minutes.

Suning eventually get a breakthrough in the 76th minute. Buzzing in the area, Xie Pengfei does just enough to squeeze his shot into the bottom corner to give his side the lead.

The home side then wrap up the contest in the 89th minute. South Korean substitute Hong Jeong-Ho delivers a great finish from Alex Teixeira's corner to hand the league champions just their fourth defeat of the CSL season. 2-nil is how it ends.

In some of the day's other notable matches -- Yanbian Funde's Ha Tae-Goon picked up his first goal since April, helping beat cellar dwellers Shijiazhuang Ever-Bright. Yu Hai's header helped SIPG beat Tianjin Teda 1-0. Chongqing Lifan were held to a 1-1 draw with Shandong Luneng, helping the winners pull out of the relegation zone.

So with one round of games remaining, Shijiazhuang sit bottom, and will be relegated. Hangzhou Greentown fell into relegation zone again, after a scoreless draw with Hebei Fortune. Liaoning, Tianjin, and Changchun are all fighting to avoid the drop as well.
