In Singapore, Agnieszka Radwanska, last year's winner of WTA Finals, got off to a rough start, losing her opening encounter, and was looking to make amends as she faced French Open champ Garbine Muguruza. The Spaniard also dropped her first match, so plenty was on the line, as the loser would be eliminated from the event.

With so much to play for, the opening set was tight and would need a tiebreak -- Radwanska serving up 3-1, and the Pole would be very efficient in the extra session, staying on the baseline, and then showing off some class, getting the lob, and then powering home the smash. Radwanska would drop only one point in the tiebreak to take the opener.

Off to the second and A-Rad is already up a break, but Muguruza is able to break right back, thanks to this passing shot. Here is a replay in case you do not believe me.

But the Spaniard would not be able to stay consistant in her play and Radwanska is able to seal a 7-6, 6-3 victory thanks to this passing shot. She plays Karolina Pliskova on Friday for a spot in the semi-finals.

KUZNETSOVA EDGES PLISKOVA 3-6, 6-2, 7-6

The other match in the White Group would see Svetlana Kuznetsova in green at the bottom of your screen battle Karolina Pliskova. The pair would need a third-set tiebreak to settle things, neither would give an inch in the extra-session, but the Russian would be able to make just a few more shots, this backhand here seals victory. Kuznetsova takes it in two hours and 17 minutes -- and with that advance to the semi-finals in Singapore.
