Guo Chuan's sailing team say they are saddened by the  U.S. Coast Guard's decision to suspend the search for him. The mariner, who is on a trans-Pacific sailing expedition, has been missing since Tuesday. Rescue crews found his boat, but he was not aboard the vessel.

The team believe Guo fell overboard around 3:30pm Beijing time Tuesday. It looks like he was not wearing his life jacket, as one was found on board the trimaran. His team say the waters off Hawaii are not very cold and he has a chance to survive and they have written a letter to the Coast Guard, asking them to resume the search. They also say a travel company in Hawaii has offered to provide five to 10 helicopters to search for the missing sailor, but they need larger ships with helipads.

These helicopters can fly 500 kilometers without stopping but the site of the accident is 900 kilometers from Hawaii. So they need large ships which have helicopter platforms and equipment to refuel the choppers.

And any suggestions or help will be greatly appreciated by Guo Chuan's team -- you contact them through the email on your screen.
