10-29-2016 06:29 BJT

China's largest carrier rocket, the Long March-5, will make its first trip into space sometime in the coming weeks. The rocket arrived at the Wenchang launch center in south China's Hainan Province in September. It was transported to the launch area on Friday morning, after final assembly and tests.

A specific date has not yet been announced. The rocket will receive functional examinations and further tests ahead of launch. The Long March-5 is packed with leading space technologies, including non-toxic environmentally-friendly fuel and a highly stable control system, representing a turning point in the country's development of carrier rockets.
