The US Geological Survey says a magnitude-6.6 earthquake has struck central Italy.

The USGS says the quake struck some 108 kilometers deep, and is centered 68 kilometers east southeast of Perugia. There are no reports yet of damage or casualties.

The tremor was also felt in the capital Rome. It comes four days after quakes of magnitude-5.1 and 6.1 also hit central Italy, toppling buildings and injuring more than ten people.

Two months ago, on August 24th, nearly 300 people died in a major quake that hit the country.
