10-31-2016 04:03 BJT

Full coverage: Cross-Strait Peaceful Development Forum

For the latest, we cross live to our reporter Xing Zheming, who is in Nanjing.
Q1. Why has Nanjing been selected as the first stop of the KMT delegation's visit and what is Hung's schedule in the city?

Q2. What are the key talking points likely to be on Hung's agenda during her visit to Beijing?

"The Democratic Progressive Party advocates Taiwan's secession, and refuses to acknowledge the 1992 Consensus. Since it became Taiwan's ruling party in 2016, it has undermined the foundation for peaceful development across the Strait. How to maintain peaceful development, and consolidate the foundation of the 1992 Consensus are important decisions to make. Hung has said that the 1992 Consensus and peaceful progress should be upheld,"

"The remarks highlight the importance of the meeting between leaders of Kuomintang and Communist Party of China. It will be a good platform for efforts to promote the trend of peaceful development based on the 1992 Consensus. We are able to express to the people in Taiwan the determination and willingness to uphold the Consensus and peace. From the meeting of the two Parties' leaders, people in Taiwan could also feel the utmost goodwill from the mainland," said Sheng Jiuyuan, researcher of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
