The China Great Wall Industry Corporation has announced its new commercial space project at the Zhuhai airshow. The project is a "Low Earth Orbit Satellite Constellation Communication System", called DESat.  It provides global real-time satellite data communication and integrated information services.

The system can be used in monitoring vessels and global air targets to increase security and enhance rescue operation, while improving the accuracy of China’s BeiDou navigation positioning system. The first DESat satellite is to be launched next year.  And the construction of the entire network will be completed by 2020. 

The China Great Wall Industry Corporation is the only commercial organization that offers commercial launch services authorized by the Chinese government.

"The system consists of 60 satellites. They cover the globe via Inter-satellite Link technology and ensure real-time two-way communication in every corner of the world, even in complex terrain conditions," said Zhang Xiaodong, executive VP of China Great Wall Industry Corporation.
