Protesters rallied in Cheonggye Plaza on Wednesday night. Seoul mayor Park Won Sun took part. Protesters also demanded the arrest of Choi Soon-sil, Park's longtime friend. Choi has no official title in public office.

Park is accused of letting Choi meddle in state affairs including the editing of presidential speeches, domestic policy, appointment of ministers and even foreign Affairs.

Choi is also reported to be involved in money laundering and corruption. Protesters say they plan to conduct rallies through November 12th. Members of parties outside of power may participate.

"Every day there is new evidence reported in the news. That's why people are so angry and asking Park Geun-hye to resign. We are deeply hurt, and we want her to resign," said protester.

"Young people are running into a brick wall in a society that is full of competition and injustice, no matter how hard they study or work. This time the scandal has added fuel to the fire. We cannot bear it anymore," said protester.
