2016 China GDP may expands 6.7%

11-03-2016 16:32 BJT

There's almost no doubt that China will hit its annual GDP target this year. That's because the Chinese economy has expanded 6.7 percent each of the past three quarters.

For the fourth quarter, economists are widely positive. The China Central for International Economics Exchange predicts a 6.6 percent rise. That's a slight softening from the previous quarters, but still above the 6.5 percent annual target.

Bank of China expects 6.7 percent growth in the fourth quarter and the same GDP number for the whole year.

Standard and Chartered Bank predicts GDP growth will reach 6.9 percent in the second half of this year. It also anticipates a 6.8 percent expansion for the whole year.

Australian Financial Review predicts a 6.5 percent to 7 percent expansion range for 2016.
