Full coverage: Premier Li Visits Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Latvia and Russia

Premier Li Keqiang said a year ago at the Suzhou Summit that China-CEE cooperation is like a high-speed train gaining momentum. And this train is now moving full-speed ahead to Riga.

Fruitful results have been achieved since China started the Sixteen-Plus-One mechanism with its Central and Eastern European partners five years ago. Between 2013 and 2015, China's total investment in the CEE countries rose from 3-point-5 billion US dollars to 5 billion - a surge of 43 percent.

While the CEE countries invested more than 1-point-2 billion dollars in the Chinese market. Cooperation programs span sectors such as agriculture, finance and logistics. Although the trade volume between China and Latvia has seen a drop recently due to economic slowdown, Premier Li's visit is set to bring new opportunities to revive bilateral trade.
