Oscar winning director Ang Lee has brought his new film "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" home to Taiwan. The film received mixed reviews when it premiered at the New York Film Festival last month.

And it's actually based on a novel by Ben Fountain, which tells the story of a soldier's struggle with post-traumatic-stress-disorder after being deployed to Iraq. The film's main character, Billy Lynn, returns home a troubled man after narrowly escaping death in the Middle East.

Oscar winning director Ang Lee has brought his new film "Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk" home to Taiwan. The film received mixed reviews when it premiered at the New York Film Festival last month.

As he prepares for an appearance at a football-game-halftime-show, he struggles with flashbacks from his time in combat. The film's lead actor, Joe Alwyn, accompanied Lee to the premiere. Lee said he is always "excited" to bring his movies back to Taiwan.

The director used new state of the art cameras to shoot the film at 120 frames per-second, rather than 24 or 25 and he is confident Taiwan fans will enjoy the cinematic experience. Taiwan is the first stop on the film's Asian publicity tour. Lee heads to the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong to promote the film later this month.
