For more on the topic, we are joined in the studio by Professor Wang Yiwei, from the School of International Studies at Renmin University of China.

Q1:  Apart from infrastructure, there are many other potential areas for China & CEE cooperation, such as trade and finance. Tell us about the prospects for bilateral cooperation.

Q2: The CEE members of the 16+1 Meeting include countries that are members of the EU and NATO. So some are assuming that the 16+1 framework is a vehicle for China to engineer a sort of a takeover of the CEE region from the EU for its own strategic purposes. How would you respond to such a narrative?
