In Latvia, Premier Li attended a "sixteen plus one" summit, which groups China and sixteen Central and Eastern European nations. He proposed 4 initiatives to promote cooperation with the region.
Li called for advancing cooperation in infrastructure and connectivity to bolster the role of CEE countries as a transport hub on the Eurasian Land Bridge. Another area is financial cooperation, to support the "16+1" mechanism and provide financing for joint projects.
The Chinese Premier also urged exploring more cooperation on green economy, particularly in green agriculture, environmental protection and clean energy. Li said people-to-people exchanges should also be intensified through exploiting cooperation mechanisms on various areas such as education, culture, and tourism.
