China's biggest overseas cultural center is located in Singapore. On Sunday, the Singaporean Chinese Cultural Center celebrated its one year anniversary, with 150 people including officials and people from all walks of life attending the colorful celebration.

Bright red lanterns and auspicious Chinese knots dotted the one year founding anniversary of the Chinese Cultural Center in Singapore. For the past year, the Chinese cultural center lived up to its honor as the biggest Chinese Cultural Center overseas, by holding an array of activities. Among them were spring festival celebrations, a maritime silk road TV program, a global Chinese speaking contest for students and many exhibitions. These events have given rise to the cultural center.

Guests witnessed the cake cutting ceremony for the center's one year anniversary celebration. They also visited an exhibition featuring young Chinese artists who are active in the current Chinese art scene.

Chinese president Xi Jinping and Singaporean Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong unveiled the center during Xi's visit to Singapore last November. For the past year, the China Cultural Center has played host to over a hundred activities attended by sixty thousand people in total. Through cultural events, trainings, communication and information services, the center aims to be a vital platform in Singapore to tell Chinese stories and transmit Chinese voices.
