CCTV got some reactions in Hong Kong to all of this, as many were in favor of the interpretation put forward by China's National People's Congress.

"The interpretation is very logical, and is necessary, and is also timely.....and also guarantee the sovereignty of China," CPPCC member Wong King Keung said.

"The Basic Law has been interpreted for times ....  they have to interprete if Hong Kong comes to a mess," HK solicitor Barry C. Y. Chin said.
